Appraisal Foundation - In 1989 Congress enacted Title XI of the Financial Institutions Reform Recovery and Enforcement Act (FIRREA), which established the current appraisal regulatory mechanism. The Appraisal Foundation serves as an umbrella organization for two independent Boards, the Appraisal Standards Board and the Appraiser Qualifications Boards. As a result of the legislation, the Foundation has the following responsibilities: all certified appraisers must meet the qualification criteria established by the AQB; all state appraisal examinations must be reviewed and approved by the AQB; all appraisals for federally related transactions must conform to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) promulgated by the ASB.
California Land Title Association (CLTA) - The Association's membership is comprised of title insurance companies and underwritten title companies conducting business in the state. Title insurers are authorized by the Department of Insurance to conduct business throughout California, while underwritten title companies are authorized by the Department of Insurance to issue policies of title insurance in a particular county pursuant to an agreement with a title insurer. Affiliate members are also included in the membership of the CLTA. These affiliates include attorneys, lenders, builders, surveyors, trustees, escrow agents, consultants and computer firms.
National Association of Realtors (NAR) - Provides a facility for professional development, research and exchange of information among its members and to the public and government for the purpose of preserving the free enterprise system, and the right to own, use, and transfer real property.
North American Students of Cooperation (NASCO) - NASCO is an association of campus cooperatives in Canada and the U.S., providing student cooperatives with operational assistance, encouraging the development of new student cooperatives, and serving as an advocate for student cooperatives.
Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) - REBNY's membership consists of the major office and residential property owners and builders, brokers and managers; banks, financial service companies, utilities, attorneys, architects, contractors and other individuals and institutions professionally interested in Manhattan real estate.
Realtors Land Institute (RLI) - An affiliate of the over million-member National Association of Realtors. It is the only branch of the REALTOR family focused on land brokerage transactions of five specialized types: (1) farms and ranches, (2) undeveloped tracts of land, (3) transitional and development land, (4) subdivision and wholesaling of lots, and (5) site selection and assemblage of land parcels.
Real Estate Roundtable - Comprised of senior principals from America's top public and privately owned real estate entities that span every segment of the commercial real estate industry. Works with Washington lawmakers and regulators in the tax, capital and credit, environmental and energy, and homeland security policy areas.
