Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) - Provides leadership for the Canadian research library community in the development of policies and programmes which maintain and improve scholarly communication.
Friends of the Library U.S.A. (FOLUSA) - A nationwide membership organization of local Friends groups and individuals. Includes more than two thousand member groups representing hundreds of thousands of library supporters.
Friends of the San Francisco Public Library - Committed to raising the standard of excellence of San Francisco libraries by funding programs and services beyond what's allocated in the City's budget. Believes in free and equal access to information for all.
International Association of School Librarianship (IASL) - Provides guidance and advice for the development of school library programmes and the school library profession. Membership is worldwide, and includes school librarians, teachers, librarians, library advisers, consultants, educational administrators, and others who are responsible for library and information services in schools.
International Chhildren's Digital Library (ICDL) - A library for the world's children.
The ICDL Foundation's goal is to build a collection of books that represents outstanding historical and contemporary books from throughout the world. Ultimately, the Foundation aspires to have every culture and language represented so that every child can know and appreciate the riches of children's literature from the world community.
International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) - International efforts in the field of universal bibliographic control, universal availability of publications, preservation and conservation of library materials and on universal electronic dataflow and telecommunications.
Library and Information Technology Association (LITA) - Provides its members and the library and information science community with a forum for discussion, an environment for learning, and a program for actions on the development and implementation of automated and technological systems in the library and information science field.
Medical Library Association (MLA) - Organized for scientific and educational purposes. Dedicated to supporting health sciences research, education, and patient care.
Middle East Librarians Association - An organization of librarians and others interested in those aspects of librarianship which support the study of or dissemination of information about the Middle East, particularly those countries from Morocco through Pakistan as well as other areas formerly included in the Arab, Ottoman, or Mughal empires.
Northern California Association of Law Libraries (NOCALL) - Promotes law librarianship and information services. Members come from a variety of law library and law library-related environments: county and court libraries (such as the California Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals, California Courts of Appeal), law school libraries, library schools, independent consulting companies, state and federal agency libraries, the California State Law Library, corporate law libraries, law firm libraries, and legal information providers.
Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) - A nonprofit, membership, computer library service and research organization dedicated to the public purposes of furthering access to the world's information and reducing information costs. More than 45,000 libraries in 84 countries and territories around the world use OCLC services to locate, acquire, catalog, lend and preserve library materials.
